There are many regular mayonnaise brands out there that are dairy/casein free (but not egg free). We use regular Kraft mayonnaise for our dairy allergic son. We also love the Tofutti sliced cheeses, sour cream, and cream cheese. They're about as close as we have gotten to the real thing (and believe me, we've tried them all). To get shredded cheese, I just take the slices, fold them up several times, and use a shredder. They carry the Tofutti items in the health food section of our local supermarket. But I have yet to find a truly tasty block cheese.
I also didn't realize in the very beginning that since the protein content of cow's milk and soy milk is so similar, I could use soy milk to substitute for cow milk in almost every baking situation. Of course, if you're child is also allergic to soy, that doesn't help a whole lot. Just don't try to use it in instant pudding :)

Hello Evelyn,
Thank you for you thoughts. The mayonaise is called Veganaise it is Dairy & Egg free and you would find it in the refrigerated section of Whole foods. The company website is www.followyourheart.com I would check Hannaford's Supermarket becuase they are carrying more specialty items lately. The sliced cheese we use is called "Vegan" mozzarella flavor by Galaxy foods this is also something I get at Wholefoods. You must check the label as there are many brands that are located in the same section, but have casein. I also use a block cheese to shred for pizza called "Vegan Gourmet" mozzarella flavor. It is a follow your heart product.
I hope that is helpful.
Have a great night.

Hi Mrs. Nasutis, I have been following this story from the beginning and Im praying that all of our kids get better soon. I notice you had Mayonnaise & cheese that is Dairy free/Casein free, could you possibly tell me the names of the products and if they are only found in Whole Foods Market? I appreciate all the information you can give me.
Sincerely
Evelyn
