I cried and cried at the end of these videos. I'm 19 years old and have a severe milk allergy. I almost died earlier this year because of it, and have just been having a lot of trouble coping with it, with not being afraid every time I eat a meal I didn't make. This little boy and the work Children's is doing are inspirational. It's nice to know there may be hope for a little normalcy yet. He is so lucky, and I know I'd jump at the chance to do what he did.

This is so exciting! I have a 23 year old son in Boston who is allergic to milk, egg, peanut and tree nuts. He would love to participate in an adult version of this study if you decide to conduct one. 23 years is a long time to avoid milk and other foods.<br>Thank you for all you do.

My sincere salute to the mother who finds more time to take care of her children. It's no joke to deal with this kind of problem. It takes courage to deal with it and still wear that very big smile.

Thank you for your response on Xolair. I hope to see the day that my son may be treated for his milk allergy. You have given us such hope!

Many thanks to all of you and especially Brett and Robyn for being so brave.

Best Wishes,
Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,

I checked with Dr. Schneider, who led this study at Children's. She says that in our study, Xolair is given for 16 weeks. Xolair is FDA-approved for
chronic use in severe asthma in patients 12 years and older.

Thank you Jennifer.
Brett began Xolair on March 23 and had his last dose on July 23rd. I was told it took 6 weeks for the Xolair to be completely out of his system. So by Sept 2nd he no longer had any Xolair in his system. It is my understanding that Xolair has used to treat moderate persistent asthma by allergist for many years now. One would need to check with their insurance provider about whether or not they'd cover the cost of the treatment.
