Children’s Hospital Boston’s Martha Eliot Health Center began distributing the H1N1 nasal spray vaccine last week. We spoke to some parents about why they decided to get their children vaccinated.
Christopher Andujar, 5 years old
Christopher and Rosemery’s mother, Minorka Aria, is terrified of the H1N1 virus. “People are dying and I knew that getting my kids vaccinated was the right thing to do,” she said.
Rosemery German, 17 years old
Yuderki Altagracia Nina Baez, 12 years old
Yuderki’s mother, Teanny Yuderki Baez, wants her daughter to be protected from H1N1. “I see people on the news everyday who get this, and I know that the only way to prevent it is to get the vaccine,” she said.
Yensis Pena, 10 years old
Yensis and Lesly’s father, Denis Pena, knows that more and more people are getting H1N1. “I just want to protect my kids,” he said.

Yofrandys Pena, 5 years old
Yofrandys’s mother, Yohanna Pena, doesn’t know any other parents who are getting their kids vaccinated. “I trust the doctors and nurses when they say vaccination is the right thing to do,” she said.
